Summer’s End/Τελος Καλοκαιριου

The summer has come to an end and the beaches are beautiful and all, but I am looking forward to the fall. 🙂

Το καλοκαίρι έχει έρθει στο τέλος της και οι παραλίες είναι όμορφες , αλλά ανυπομονώ για το φθινόπωρο. 🙂

A Piglet’s Day at the Beach

“Well of course I’m swimming. The beach isn’t only for humans!”

“There must be food in the sand. Humans are pigs!”

“Ahhh so relaxing!”

“Us birds need to relax too”.

At the beach you will see various animals from dogs to horses, pigeons to pelicans or swans etc. But, what about a pig?

The little girl in the photograph is the owner of this cute little pig named ‘Aris’. She that said she acquired him for 50 bucks from the U.S and that he doesn’t grow very big, so he makes for a perfect house pet. 🙂

 

Endless Blue/Απεραντο Γαλαζιο

Some photographs of the beautiful and relaxing seascape off of Cape Sounio  or the ‘Athenian Riviera’.  I wish I had this view all the time, well maybe not on stormy days 😉

Μερικές φωτογραφίες από το όμορφο και χαλαρωτικό θαλασσινό τοπίο από το ακρωτήρι του Σούνιου ή την ‘Αθηναϊκή Ριβιέρα’. Μακάρι να είχα αυτή την θέα κάθε μέρα , ίσως όχι στις θυελλώδεις ημέρες 😉

Many names are carved into the marble from the 19th century. The scandalous Lord Byron left carved his name here.

Next to the temple is the lesser known Temple of Athena.

Let it flare!

The Temple of Poseidon is located at the southernmost point of  the Athenian peninsula at Cape Sounio. It is an hour and a half away from Athens’ center. The long drive there is gorgeous and worth it. The temple is dedicated to Poseidon the Greek God of the sea. It was rebuilt by order of Pericles in the 5th century B.C. over an older temple from the Archaic period. This site has been continually inhabited since prehistoric times.

This is my second time at the Temple of Poseidon in Sounio. I can’t get enough of the temple and views here. I couldn’t stop taking pictures. The task of organizing them was a bit of a chore, but I finally got around to publishing them. I have more of the pictures of the views of the ocean that I will be posting soon.

Sounio Beach/Η Παραλία του Σουνίου

A few photos from a beautiful and relaxing August beach day. It’s a bit far from where I live but it’s worth the drive. The temple of Poseidon is right next to it and it overlooks the beach.

Μερικές φωτογραφίες από μια όμορφη και χαλαρωτική ημέρα του Αυγούστου. Είναι λίγο μακριά από το σημείο όπου ζω, αλλά αξίζει τον κόπο. Ο ναός του Ποσειδώνα είναι δίπλα  και έχει θέα στην παραλία.

The World Needs to Chillax

It’s an anthropomorphic world! Eww the world has some very ugly feet 😉

Μy drawings were inspired by the recent catastrophic events of the past few years. It seems like the whole world is on fire. From the Amazon to the Arctic to Europe, Australia and Africa. The melting of the glacier in Iceland. So many terrible chain of events. It’s so depressing. If only the arrogant world leaders were all environmentalists. What a better world it would be.

Είναι ένας ανθρωπομορφικός κόσμος! Ο κόσμος έχει πολύ άσχημα πόδια. 😉

Τα σχέδια ήταν εμπνευσμένα από τα πρόσφατα καταστροφικά γεγονότα των τελευταίων ετών. Φαίνεται ότι όλος ο κόσμος καίγεται. Από τον Αμαζόνιο στην Αρκτική στην Ευρώπη και την Αφρική. Η τήξη του παγετώνα στην Ισλανδία. Τόσα πολλά τρομερά γεγονότα, το ενα μετα το αλλο. Είναι τόσο καταθλιπτικό. Εάν μόνο οι αλαζονικοί ηγέτες του κόσμου ήταν όλοι περιβαλλοντολόγοι ο κόσμος θα ήταν ένα καλύτερο μέρος.
